John holds Chartered Psychologist status, (recognised professional practitioner level), for three separate domains of practice with the Psychological Society of Ireland: Chartered Educational Psychologist; Chartered Counselling Psychologist; and, Chartered Work and Organisational Psychologist.

John is a highly experienced Psychologist whose work experience as an applied psychologist includes posts with Tusla Child and Family Agency, Sensational Kids Service, Brothers of Charity Service, Cope Foundation, Co-Action West Cork, National Learning Network, and NEPS (National Educational Psychological Service).

Additionally, John has worked in research or teaching roles with the following academic bodies:

the University of Ulster;

Queen's University Belfast;

Oscail;

Maynooth University; and

Mary Immaculate College, Limerick.

  • 1997 Certificate in Integrative Psychotherapy, Flatstone Institute, Cork.

  • 1994 Higher Diploma in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, U.C.C.

  • 1990 Master of Science in Occupational Psychology, Q.U.B.

  • 1984 Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology, Q.U.B.
